§ 1 General information

Personal data is individual information about your personal or factual circumstances, i.e., data that identifies you or can be used to determine your identity. This includes, for example, your real name, address, telephone number, or date of birth.

Personal data also includes data that can be linked to a person, i.e., data that does not directly relate to a person but from which a person can be identified, such as an IP address.

Data that can be linked to a person includes data that is generated in connection with accessing www.dvz-international.de and is stored in log files on the servers of DVV Media and its technical service providers.

Server log files are stored for security reasons (e.g., to investigate misuse or fraud) for a maximum of seven days and then deleted. Data that must be retained for evidentiary purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified. Server log files are stored for security reasons (e.g. to investigate misuse or fraud) for a maximum of seven days and then deleted. Data that needs to be retained for evidentiary purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified.

When you visit the DVV Media website, personal data is also processed automatically in anonymized form. This includes usage data such as the start and end of your visit, the pages you have accessed, or the length of time you have spent on the portal. This data is not used for personal purposes.

§ 2 Security measures

We take state-of-the-art organizational and technical security measures to ensure compliance with data protection laws and to protect the data we process against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or access by unauthorized persons.

§ 3 SSO procedure

DVV Media uses the single sign-on (SSO) procedure. The SSO procedure means that, after registering once with their access data, each user can use various offers and services without having to register and log in again. This saves the user from having to repeatedly enter data manually.

During registration, we collect and store the following data: email address, password. This inventory data is processed for the purpose of fulfilling our contractual obligations and services in accordance with § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.

§ 4 Comment function

When users leave comments or other contributions under our articles, their IP addresses are stored on the basis of § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG.

This is done for our security in case someone leaves illegal content in comments or other posts. This includes, among other things, insults, political propaganda, etc. In this case, we may be prosecuted for the comment or post and are therefore interested in the identity of the author. In all other respects, reference is made to the terms of use.

§ 5 Contact

When contacting us (via contact form or email), the user's details are processed for the purpose of handling the contact request and its processing in accordance with Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR.

§ 6 Google Fonts

In order to operate the website, DVV processes information that is absolutely necessary within the meaning of § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in order to display content correctly and graphically appealing across browsers using Google Web Fonts. (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Web Fonts are transferred to your browser's cache to avoid multiple loading. If your browser does not support Google Web Fonts or prevents access, content will be displayed in a standard font.

For more information, please refer to Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.

§ 7 Use of cookies

Cookies are small amounts of data that are transmitted to your computer from the Internet together with the data you have actually requested. This data is stored there and kept ready for later retrieval. DVV Media uses the following types of cookies for www.dvz-international.com and for the DVZ Kiosk app:

  1. Session cookies:
These are cookies that are only stored on your computer for the duration of an Internet session. These cookies are deleted after the session ends, i.e., after you leave the website or close the browser window.
  2. Persistent cookies:
We use persistent cookies for user authentication, which serve to recognize visitors and are stored on your computer for future sessions. These cookies are valid for up to 120 months.
  3. Login cookies:
In addition, a cookie is also used for user authentication. Different cookies may be used for this purpose: By default, cookies are used that are only generated for the respective session. They store information about the user name, user rights, and the validity of the session.
  4. Google-Re/Marketing Services:
We use the marketing and remarketing services (hereinafter “Google Marketing Services”) of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter “Google”). The legal basis for processing is § 25 (1) TDDDG.
Google Marketing Services allow us to display advertisements for and on our website in a more targeted manner in order to present users only with advertisements that potentially match their interests. If, for example, a user is shown advertisements for products that they have shown interest in on other websites, this is referred to as “remarketing.” For these purposes, when our website and other websites on which Google Marketing Services are active are accessed, a code from Google is executed directly by Google and so-called (re)marketing tags (invisible graphics or code, also known as “web beacons”) are integrated into the website. With their help, an individual cookie, i.e., a small file, is stored on the user's device (comparable technologies can also be used instead of cookies). The cookies can be set by various domains, including google.com, invitemedia.com, admeld.com, googlesyndication.com, or googleadservices.com. This file records which websites the user has visited, what content they are interested in, and which offers they have clicked on, as well as technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, visit time, and other information about the use of the online offering. The user's IP address is also recorded, whereby we inform Google Analytics that the IP address is truncated within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and only in exceptional cases is it transferred in full to a Google server in the USA and truncated there. The IP address is not merged with user data within other Google services. The above-mentioned information may also be linked by Google to information from other sources. When the user subsequently visits other websites, they may be shown advertisements tailored to their interests.
User data is processed pseudonymously within the framework of Google Marketing Services. This means that Google does not store and process the name or email address of users, for example, but processes the relevant data in a cookie-related manner within pseudonymous user profiles. This means that, from Google's point of view, the ads are not managed and displayed for a specifically identified person, but for the cookie owner, regardless of who that cookie owner is. This does not apply if a user has expressly permitted Google to process the data without this pseudonymization. The data collected by Google Marketing Services about users is transmitted to Google and stored on Google servers in the USA.
We may integrate third-party advertisements based on Google Marketing Services Google Ad Manager. Google Ad Manager uses cookies that enable Google and its partner websites to place ads based on users' visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.
We may integrate third-party advertisements based on Google Marketing Services “AdSense.” AdSense uses cookies that enable Google and its partner websites to place advertisements based on users' visits to our website or other websites on the Internet.
We may also use Google Tag Manager to integrate and manage Google's analytics and marketing services on our websites.
For more information about Google's use of data for marketing purposes, please visit www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads/. Google's privacy policy can be found at policies.google.com/privacy. If you wish to object to interest-based advertising by Google Marketing Services, you can use the settings and opt-out options provided by Google (www.google.com/ads/preferences).
  5. Google Analytics cookies (data collection for optimization purposes):
With your consent, we use Google Analytics, a feature of Google Analytics, including Google Signals and the User ID feature. You can revoke this consent at any time in the cookie settings. Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”) and uses cookies, which are text files stored on your computer that enable analysis of your use of the website. The legal basis for processing is § 25 (1) TDDDG.
The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, since we have activated IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will be truncated by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.
Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity for website operators and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage. This website uses Google Analytics reports on demographic characteristics, which use data from interest-based advertising from Google and visitor data from third-party providers (e.g., age, gender, and interests). This data can be deactivated at any time via the ad settings. Users' personal data is deleted or anonymized after 14 months.
For more information on Google's use of data, please visit Google's websites: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en, policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=en, adssettings.google.com/anonymous

In general, you also have the option of deleting cookies via the corresponding browser function and setting how your browser should handle cookies. However, it should be noted that if you generally reject cookies, the use of the services may be impaired.

§ 8 Use of social media buttons

  1. DVV Media uses the Facebook Share button and the Twitter button in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. This allows you to easily share/tweet articles and inform your friends/contacts about them. If you click on one of the buttons, you will be prompted to log in to the corresponding social network in a new window. In this case, a cookie from the social network will also be placed on your computer. If you do not click on the button or are not logged into the social network, no cookie from the social network will be placed on your computer. If you are a user of the social network and are logged in and click on the button, this information will be transmitted to your corresponding user profile. Other users can then see that you are sharing/tweeting this article. Which users receive this information depends on the privacy settings you have selected in your user profile. When you visit a page with a button, your IP address is transmitted. For data protection reasons, however, this is anonymized so that no conclusions can be drawn about the computer or its user.
  2. This website incorporates a “YouTube plugin” into its information offering. This YouTube software uses cookies for data collection and statistical data analysis. YouTube uses cookies, among other things, to collect reliable video statistics, prevent fraud, and improve user-friendliness. The operator of the website receives statistical values from YouTube cookies for the retrieval of individual videos embedded in the website without any reference to the respective user. The legal basis for this is § 25 (1) TDDDG. The embedded videos from YouTube are used within the scope of the permitted use by YouTube, which all users must accept. If you believe that copyrights have been infringed, please report this directly to YouTube.
  3. We use embedded YouTube videos in extended data protection mode. This means that YouTube does not store cookies for a user who displays a website with an embedded YouTube video player but does not click on the video to start playback. If the YouTube video player is clicked, YouTube may store cookies on the user's computer, but no personal cookie information is stored for playback of embedded videos. (Source: YouTube “Enabling extended privacy mode for embedded videos”) For more information, please refer to YouTube's general privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy). We do not collect any personal data in connection with the embedding of YouTube videos.
We use the provider Vimeo to embed videos. Vimeo is operated by Vimeo, LLC, headquartered at 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011.
  4. We use plugins from the provider Vimeo on www.dvz-international.com. When you visit the pages of our website that contain such a plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established and the plugin is displayed. This transmits to the Vimeo server which of our web pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of Vimeo, Vimeo assigns this information to your personal user account. When you use the plugin, e.g. by clicking the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your Vimeo user account before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies from Vimeo.
Further information on data processing and information on data protection by Vimeo can be found at https://vimeo.com/privacy.

  1. Functions of the Spotify music service are integrated into our website. The provider is Spotify AB, Birger Jarlsgatan 61, 113 56 Stockholm, Sweden.
If you click on the Spotify button while you are logged into your Spotify account, you can link the content of our pages to your Spotify profile. This allows Spotify to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. For more information, please refer to Spotify's privacy policy: https://www.spotify.com/de/legal/privacy-policy/
If you do not want Spotify to associate your visit to our pages with your Spotify user account, please log out of your Spotify user account.
The legal basis for this is § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
  2. Plugins from the social network SoundCloud (SoundCloud Limited, Berners House, 47-48 Berners Street, London W1T 3NF, United Kingdom) may be integrated into our pages. You can recognize the SoundCloud plugins by the SoundCloud logo on the relevant pages.
When you visit our pages, a direct connection between your browser and the SoundCloud server is established after activation of the plugin. SoundCloud thereby receives the information that you have visited our site with your IP address. If you click the “Like” or “Share” button while logged into your SoundCloud user account, you can link and/or share the content of our pages with your SoundCloud profile. This allows SoundCloud to associate your visit to our pages with your user account. We would like to point out that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the data transmitted or its use by SoundCloud. For more information, please refer to SoundCloud's privacy policy at: https://soundcloud.com/pages/privacy.
If you do not want SoundCloud to associate your visit to our pages with your SoundCloud user account, please log out of your SoundCloud user account before activating the content of the SoundCloud plugin.
The legal basis for this is § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
  3. We use the podcast hosting service JULEP HOSTING provided by Julep Media GmbH, Rosenheimer Straße 139, 81671 Munich. The podcasts are loaded by Julep or transmitted via Julep. The legal basis for the processing is § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR. Julep processes IP addresses and device information to enable podcast downloads and/or playback and to determine statistical data, such as the number of hits. This data is anonymized or pseudonymized before being stored in Julep's database, unless it is necessary for the provision of the podcasts.
  4. We use the following podcast hosting services, to which we link. The legal basis for this is § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR. We use software solutions from the external provider SurveyMonkey (Momentive Europe UC, 2nd Floor, 2 Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin, Ireland), which enables us to create, conduct, and evaluate secure online surveys. In anonymous surveys, we ensure that your data is not linked to your answers in any way or passed on to third parties. Participation is voluntary.

Further information can be found in the relevant sections of SurveyMonkey's privacy policy (https://www.surveymonkey.de/mp/legal/privacy/  and  https://www.surveymonkey.de/mp/privacy/ ).

§ 12 Usage-based online advertising

We market the advertising space on this website ourselves. Cookies are stored on your computer for this purpose. So-called “ad servers” are used to deliver the advertising material booked by advertisers on the publisher's media.
To do this, the ad servers use cookies that can be used to measure certain parameters for measuring success, such as the display of ads or clicks by users. In order to optimize advertising for you based on your usage interests, we have permitted the following companies (among others) to collect usage data:

  1. Google Ireland Limited (google.de), Gordon House, Barrow St Dublin 4, Ireland, (“Google”) provides an ad server. § 13 Analysis services

  1. We use the services of B2B Media Group EMEA GmbH, a provider of web analysis and target group marketing. B2B Media Group EMEA GmbH uses cookies, which are text files stored in the browser of the computer and collect/contain anonymous usage data. This data can be used to create usage profiles under a pseudonym. However, no personal data is collected without the consent of the person concerned. If IP addresses are collected, they are stored anonymously by deleting the last digit block and are not merged with the cookies. The cookies are either cookies from B2B Media Group EMEA GmbH or cookies from service providers who are also obliged to comply with the data protection laws used by B2B Media Group EMEA GmbH, such as krux digital Inc., Google Inc., etc. You can delete cookies directly in your browser at any time. The legal basis for processing is § 25 (1) TDDDG.

§ 14 Plugins and embedded functions and content

We integrate functional and content elements into our online offering that are obtained from the servers of their respective providers (hereinafter referred to as “third-party providers”). These may be graphics, videos, or city maps (hereinafter referred to collectively as “content”).
The integration always requires that the third-party providers of this content process the IP address of the users, as they would not be able to send the content to their browsers without the IP address. The IP address is therefore necessary for the display of this content or these functions. We endeavor to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address solely for the delivery of the content. Third-party providers may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also known as “web beacons”) for statistical or marketing purposes. Pixel tags can be used to evaluate information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The pseudonymous information may also be stored in cookies on the user's device and may contain, among other things, technical information about the browser and operating system, referring websites, visit time, and other information about the use of our online offering, and may be linked to such information from other sources.

  • Types of data processed: Usage data (e.g., websites visited, interest in content, access times); Meta, communication, and process data (e.g., IP addresses, time stamps, identification numbers, consent status); Inventory data (e.g., names, addresses); Contact data (e.g., email, phone numbers); Content data (e.g., entries in online forms); Event data (Facebook) (“Event data” is data that can be transmitted by us to Facebook, e.g., via Facebook pixels (via apps or other means) and relates to individuals or their actions; the data includes, for example, information about visits to websites, interactions with content, functions, app installations, product purchases, etc.; Event data is processed for the purpose of creating target groups for content and advertising information (custom audiences). Event data does not include the actual content (such as comments posted), login information, or contact information (i.e., no names, email addresses, or phone numbers). Event data is deleted by Facebook after a maximum of two years, and the target groups formed from it are deleted when our Facebook account is deleted).
  • Data subjects: Users (e.g., website visitors, users of online services).
  • Purposes of processing: Provision of our online offering and user-friendliness; provision of contractual services and customer service; marketing; profiles with user-related information (creation of user profiles).
  • Legal basis: Consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

We operate Facebook fan page(s) within the Facebook social network in order to communicate with customers, interested parties, and users who are active there and to inform them about our products and services.

We would like to point out that user data may be processed outside the European Union. This may pose risks for users, as it could make it more difficult for them to enforce their rights, for example.

Furthermore, user data is generally processed for market research and advertising purposes. For example, usage profiles can be created based on user behavior and the resulting interests of users. The usage profiles can in turn be used, for example, to place advertisements within and outside the platforms that are presumed to correspond to the interests of users. For these purposes, cookies are usually stored on users' computers, in which the usage behavior and interests of users are stored. Furthermore, data can also be stored in the usage profiles independently of the devices used by users (especially if users are members of the respective platforms and are logged in to them).

The processing of users' personal data is carried out in accordance with Section 25 (1) TDDDG. If users are asked by the respective platform providers for consent to data processing, e.g., by means of a checkbox, the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. a., Art. 7 GDPR.

For a detailed description of the respective processing operations and the options for objection (opt-out), we refer you to the information provided by the providers linked below.

In the case of requests for information and the assertion of user rights, we would also like to point out that these can be most effectively asserted with the providers. Only the providers have access to the user data and can take appropriate measures and provide information directly. However, if you still need help, you can contact us.
